When a traditional PBX is replaced by a SIP-based VoIP network, the new SIP network has to integrate with the PSTN interface via a media gateway device. The PSTN sees the SIP network as a standard PBX communicates with the “Virtual PBX” just like it did when the old phone system was installed.
Obviously if your business wants to maximize the potential of SIP/VoIP over PSTN, you would expect to have a high-speed, reliable Internet connection. You could connect via a media gateway replacement to your PBX on site, or you could connect just using SIP.
Remember though, there are a number of different options in connecting via SIP. Odyssey can offer the connection solution which is best for your needs and budget.
